EPT Dortmund Day 1A

Yesterday marked the beginning of EPT Dortmund and things got off to a good start for me. My table was really juicy with the exception of Adrian Koy. The table was divided into two playing styles: weak/loose and weak/tight. Unfortunately the weak/loose players donked off their chips within the first couple levels and I won around 5k from one of them. The tight players were playing painfully predictable and allowed me to build up my stack to 26k without taking any hands to showdown.

With blinds of 150/300 (eff stacks 26k), I made it 900 from the SB with Qd7d after the action was folded to me. The BB was a tight player who had been on a huge cardrush so far. He called the 900 and we saw a flop of Ad5d2s. I bet 1000 and he raised me to 3k, which I called. The turn was the 3d and I donked 4k in the 8k pot, which he called. The river paired the ace and I put in a small value bet of 5600. He snapped me off and I tabled my flush, pretty confident I had the winner. He then tabled A2 for a full house and took it down. The whole table was in shock how he could not raise the river, but I didn't mind :)

I eventually was down to 6k then doubled up with TT vs AK. At the end of the day after 8 levels of play, I had just 11,100 chips left which is well under average. I would have loved to play more hands during the last hour of play, but believe it or not, there was a guy who used his time bank of 1 min for every decision of EVERY SINGLE HAND during the last level of play in order to stall himself into Day 2. I was on the verge of flipping out, it was seriously the most retarded thing I have ever seen.

The new blinds in Day 2 will be 400/800, so I'll be forced to make a move rather quickly. Anything can happen, though!
