Australian Open
Since busting from the Main Event, I've obviously had plenty of time on my hands. Besides relaxing outside in the sun or chilling at the pool, I've been following the Australian Open pretty closely. Hans and I got some tickets for the night session on Tuesday night from the kind folks at Betfair, so went and got to see Venus Williams vs Zi Yan followed by Roger Federer vs Diego Hartfield. Both matches were pretty lopsided with Williams and Federer dominating their opponents. Still, the atmosphere was great and I had a really good time watching my first tennis live matches ever.
We got some more tickets for tonight and so we were able to see the beautiful Ana Ivanovic vs Tathiana Garbin followed by Marat Safin vs Marcos Baghdatis. The mens game went into 5 sets, which was pretty heartracing due to the fact that I had a bet on Baghdatis. Luckily he played a solid 5th set and so he won the game and I won the bet, if only things always went so easy :)
Tomorrow's plan is to play the $5000 Heads Up tournament, let's hope I get an easy 1st round opponent!
