Some updates

This was looking to be a lot worse, for most of the day I was down over 1k but managed to rally it up and reduce my losses to a minimal amount. It is said that great players win the most when they are ahead and lose the least when they are behind. I think this applies more to hands that are actually being played rather than general results, but I still think it is true. I am not saying I am a great player (matter of fact, I suck), but that is something I definitely strive to be.

I was woken up this morning by the DHL delivery guy, who had a pleasant surprise for me. Both Harrington on Hold'em III by Dan Harrington as well as Ace on the River by Barry Greenstein arrived in less than two weeks from the date they were ordered. Thank you Pokerstars FPP shop! I have begun reading Ace on the River already and I must say that it seems to be a great read!

Shortly afterwards, I got a phone call from Rainer, saying that there is a €400 + rebuy tournament being held at Spielbank Berlin on Friday. That was news to me! I called the casino to find out the details and was told that the starting chips are 4000 with 20/40 blind levels and that each player is allowed a maximum of two rebuys (each €200). The tournament is tomorrow, or I guess tonight since it is already Friday. They are expecting around 40 players.

Rainer also told me that while reading through the Poker-Tester Forum, he stumbled across the Petrovice thread. He told me he definitely wants to come with us, so that makes us 4 Berliners so far! We'll be there from the 28th-30th of July. I'm pretty sure we're going to have a great time, as well as make a few bucks here and there if possible.

Fast forward to August 17th. Sutti and I will be flying down to Vienna for a long weekend of poker and I couldn't be more excited about it. More details to follow...
