Same old

Monday: +$311
It didn't look like Monday was going to be a good day at all. There was no grey zone, it was either black or white. Win or lose. When the losing happened seven tournies in a row I was beginning to get frustrated. Luckily a couple wins soon followed and I found myself slowly crawling back towards not so bad numbers for the day. I made 4th place in the Celeb League tourney, which I really should have won but I started playing like a donkey. I blew my humungous chiplead and paid the price by bubbling.

At 10:30 then I registered for a $53+5 qualifier to the $250k Guaranteed tournament. 19 players signed up and so there was one seat up for grabs, as well as $477 for second place. After a couple hours I found myself 3-handed and began to take control of the table. I accumulated a very nice chiplead by stealing blinds left and right, which was made possible because the other two were fighting for 2nd place. I eventually was heads up and it didn't take me all too long to win the seat! They are guaranteeing $60k to the winner of the $250k tournament on May 13th, it would be all too sweet to get my hands on that prize.

Tuesday: -$167
I did a lot of folding on Tuesday. I couldn't seem to get anything playable and was getting shortstacked in virtually every tourney I played. Don't get me wrong, I am very comfortable when I am shortstacked. I feel like I know what to do when I am shortstacked, so that's not the issue. The issue is having the feeling of not being able to accumulate chips so many tournaments in a row. I then got the bad end of a few deals and was ready to call it quits for the day down a little more than $500.

I did still have one $215 SNG running at that time, though. Sure enough, I managed to lose half of my chips in a very unnecessary manner early on in the tourney and found myself shortstacked (surprise, surprise) again. I would stay this way until we were 4-handed, where I barely managed to keep my head above water through steals and then managed to sqeeeeeze myself into the money. I then went into aggression mode, caught a couple hands, knocked the medium stack and played heads up with my 6k vs his 14k.

Heads up is another part of the game where I feel very comfortable in. It went back and forth. He started very aggressive, then I doubled up and he became very passive. I had him all with 99 vs his A4, only to see an ace flop. I worked him down to about 2500 chips vs my 17.5k chips when I pushed in with T4. He called with J2. I flopped a 4 and it all seemed over, until the jack fell on the river. OK. It can happen. We were soon even in chips again, and then I made a mistake that cost me the whole tourney. I pushed in the SB with some kind of crap (don't even remember what it was) and he insta called with AQ. He won obviously. I really regret that move (it should have been a call), but hey, we learn from our mistakes. Next time, he's mine.
