A late night rally unlike all others
Saturday: +$1999
I experienced it all today. I was so high, then so low, and then so high again. Here's a breakdown of the day:
Early afternoon: After spending over $60 in a $10+Rebuy Turbo Qualifier at Pokerstars, I make the final table and qualify myself for the Sunday Million Guaranteed.
Early evening: I make a decent amount of money playing the SNGs. Several first place finishes. I am playing concentrated and it is paying off.
Evening: I playing the Scottish Weekly at Celeb. Buy-in is $35+3. A few hundred players. After two and a half hours of play there are 20 players left. Top 18 get a ticket to the Scottish Final. Place 19 gets $280. I have an average chipstack. I get dealt JJ and go all-in. Chipleader calls me with A7s. Flop comes clean, turn comes clean, and then ace on the river. Bubble. Fuck!!! I still can not get this out of my head. I know now that I should have folded preflop, because there is no difference in place 1 or place 18. I did not need to play to win, I needed to fold to win.
Night: Extremely pissed off about the Scottish Weekly I really wanted to just turn off my laptop right then and there. Unfortunately I had already started the midnight $50+5 MTT at Celeb. 100 players showed up and after a few hours of disciplined poker (including a heads up match which was basically handed to me), I took down the tourney for $1500. Thank God I can sleep at peace tonight, I don't know what I would have done if I had been stuck thinking about my bubble play all night!
